Embodiment and Belonging : Herbalism as Connection : Intuitive Hair Styling
Hi there, I'm Amelia
I come into myself most easily in a forest, caught in a dance, and playing with others. Questions seem to intrigue me far more than answers do and I find this human exploration to be endlessly curious.

As a sprite young sunflower, I began dancing around my back yard, twirling amongst the tall grass, trees, and throughout my mother’s garden. Through dance, my curiosity for movement and its healing abilities allured me into the world of Yoga. While practicing yoga to find union and synergy in my health, I was introduced to the world of naturopathy. Experiencing a lifelong challenge with anxiety and panic attacks I eventually found myself in the office of a naturopath in Durango, Colorado. Two weeks into completely changing my diet and using herbal supplements I understood that my relationship with food and plants was vastly more than I could imagine. As I developed a deeper relationship to the subtle sensations of my body, I made a connection between what I consume and how I feel. I am a forever student of the body’s ability to heal itself along with the role herbs play to assist in healing.
Herbalism began for me as a way of entering into the conversation between myself and the more than human world. It is an expression for me; rooted in a vitalist and folk understanding that life flows through all things. And that all beings have spirit, all beings interact, and all beings desire relationship.

I’m devoted to the work of uniting the unconscious and conscious mind–all in service to the love that is our core. I work for the web of mycelium that connects all beings in a relationship that is endlessly rebirthing itself. Through relationship, change occurs. When we remember that the Earth is always present, we can join in this presence and live more fully.
